well, this week has been crazy but good! oh my good ness. i don't have my old planner with what i've written down to tell you, so i'm going to just do with my memory for now. well, the BIG drama this last week: Sis. Yoon's outbound call got changed for some reason. instead of carlsbad, CA she just found out like 2 days before she was supposed to leave that it was switched to Denver, CO mission. well, let me tell you, she was not happy with that at all! i was very surprised with the way she dealt with this. she was rude to Pres. Holmes sec. who told her about it-she's incharge of flight plans for all the sisters, and she literally threw a fit. i just about had it w/ her. she cried, and cried, and cried, she was sulking, and pouting, and she talked to pres. holmes, and he gave her the choice of cancelling her outbound mission call. she even said that she might not go, and wanted to go home. i just wanted to tell her to grow up and stop acting like a child. she is my trainer, supposed to set the example for me, and here she was acting like this, and here is me, 1st transfer, telling my trainer to shape up and that she has the choice whether she wants to be happy or sad, and that this is in God's plan. didn't matter what i said, or what our District leaders said, she threw her name tag when our district leader tried to hold it up infront of her face to make her see who she was being a missionary for, anyways she snapped out of it enough to go. thank goodness, that transfer day was the next day!!! holy cow!! so now! my new companion is Sister Couto (pronounced Coh Toe)!! from Brazil!!! she is adorable! she is like 5ft tall! and she totally looks like Sharon Adams! haha. she has a fun personality. her and i get along a lot better because she's is funny and laid back and not quite so serious. it's nice to have someone to laugh with about silly things. Ü So my very first day of transfer was busy, because everyone is trying to move into their new apt. my new apartment is in a house! the church own 4 houses w/ smaller apts inside. where i was living before was a huge apartment building that most of the sisters live in. i love where I'm at now. it's a lot more quiet, and it's only me and sis. couto in a one bedroom and that's it! it's perfect!! and from our bathroom, as I'm waiting for my hair to curl in my curling iron, i can look in the mirror and see the reflection of the temple!! Ü
so with in one week- I've seen Elder Perry, in a baseball cap taking a walk with his cute little wife, and i got to shake their hands, and just the other day it was Elder Nelson!! got to shake his hand too! he was on the grounds of Temple Square, we have construction going on. they are putting heated pipes underneath the ground for winter and so i think he was here looking at that. so i heard, but who knows. anyways, we saw him from afar, and took a detour to go shake his hand. i felt bad b/c at first i was like Oh! it's Elder Nelson, and then someone else came up to me and was like, hey i just saw Elder Hales! and then i got scared to address him properly in fear that i would call him the wrong name. so i feel really bad, but i was right from the beginning. sad. they just look so different from their pictures. haha oh well!
this transfer is different. we have assignments in spec. areas on temple square and in our mission, instead of haivng our assignments everywehrer. so my zone is the the extended zone: Welfare Square, Humanitarian Center, BeeHive House, Family Search Center, and the legacy Theatre for the Joseph Smith Movie. This is where we are mainly focused but we still have tours in our sched. so my very first day of our transfer was Welfare Square! and that's my Main assignment w/in my other assignments of extended zone. I LOVE IT!!! i never realized that when i look at the tithing slip and see welfare or humanitarian Aid. this is where it all it. , this is amazing and the spirit is so strong of what we are doing there. more- what the church does. i had no idea. if you haven't had a tour, i urge you. my heart goes out to Welfare Square. Friday we had extensive training so that we would be very knowledgeable and have all the facts and history. it was so neat, i got to help assist someone get their food at the Bishop's Storehouse. There are needy people in there all the time. Sis. Couto and i taught a lesson to a homeless man who wants to be baptized. he came in - at the beginning w/ tears, and i saw him leaving with a smile on his face, and he been fed, found a new friend who had similar problems, and hopefully had somewhat of a job that would in return get him regular incoming meals. ohh, what service does to ya. Ü
its so guess what?!?!?!?! MOTHERS DAY IS COMING UP!!!! yee haw! woo hoo!!!!!! This next sunday i gets to call you! i've been told that i get to call you sometime before then to set up a time when i can call you. so yay! so make sure that you will be home on sunday, or when i call you to set up an appt. we'll make sure i know where to call the fam at. , i better go. i hate to! i wish i could keep typing b/c i atleast feel like a tidge of closeness to you like i'm talking to you all, but i'll just have to be patient and wait until sunday. here are some fun pics!!! love you so much! and thank you for everything! i'm so blessed! much much love to you!
