Hey family!

Thanks for your emails! Man, many thoughts of you and the fam yesterday on the 4th -o- July. It was still a great day though! Many good people that we were able to talk to.

Met a neat black couple from Las Vegas and their darling son, Henry who is 2 years old. soo cute. We took them on a tour and finished at God's Plan- they referred! The dad cried in the presentation. They are prepared, Sister Zalazar and I could both recognize it- as we talked about it afterwards. He was so respectful and kind. always would take the door from us so that we could walk in front of him first- you could just tell, good people.

Met a woman the other day- so random of a contact, but def. was meant to be by the Lord- she was from PULLMAN!! and she referred. Seriously that contact did not last more that 3 min. she was ready, I was there, and bam. we were supposed to meet, both be from Pullman, and for me to invite her, and for her to accept. I can't wait to get home and call her and follow up. She asked me to keep in touch w/ her. So I'm happy about that.

Also met this sweet dear old man- Loy, he's Baptist and absolutely LOVES the tabernacle choir. He's so impressed about the church and has been here for the past few days. I keep seeing him here. and he's staying until this Wed. I ran into him again and he just held my had w/ the biggest smile and was so happy to see me. He said that he has come before w/ his baptist choir, but they all bad mouth the church, and he came this time by him self b/c he wanted to just enjoy it all by himself w/o the influence of his choir. He said that he has a hard time understanding the whole Joseph Smith story- and I invited him to receive the Restoration DVD w/ the missionaries, and he gladly accepted!  Has asked to keep in touch.

Just these dear kind people, they feel the spirit, they like being here. I just love being able to witness these miracles. My testimony of the prepared people that the Lord sends to us is so strong. in the  two short wks. Sister Zalazar and I have been together this transfer, we have seen this over and over. It's amazing. we've been really trying to focus on simply working hard everyday and being obedient. This is something that Pres. Holmes has asked us to be. The most obedient and hard working mission.
Just had to get that out before I forget these neat-o- stories!!

Loves to all!!!!!!

Family,

It was sooo good to be able to talk to you on Father's day!  That was so nice!

First to tell you the news of the last transfer- and then I shall answer the questions for you! My new companion is Sister Zalazar from ARGENTINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No way! I'm so happy!! I just feel this is a blessing from Heavenly Father that I get to be w/ someone from the same country that Jeffy is serving in. She is from Rosario which is not in his mission- but so neat and special, My prayers everyday is to take a tour w/Argentines that refer- that I can send a referral to Jeff's mission area that he is in. How incredible would that be. I had actually thought that before this transfer, and I was like, well, that'd mean I'd have to have a Spanish speaking comp. and initially  I thought, oh Sister Ledezma! But it never occurred to me- oh, I could get a comp. from Argentina! I pray and hope!!!!!!!!

So we are in the south zone! My new pday is Monday. and my assignment is the apartment coordinater. So we get to do inspections....(yay.) and that kind of stuff. It's good- the Lord has blessed me with so many good assignments and comps. my whole mission- this is a good way to end. I'll be learning spanish! So I'm excited about that!

Oh! funny story! have to tell you! We had a pretty big Mandarin tour this morning- about 16 people- and we finished at the conf. center- and we had finished and were going down to the main level after taking them to the top- so we all cram in the elevator! All 16 of us, I'm the only American, and I'm sorry, but I couldn't help it,  but "how many asians can you fit in an elevator" goes though my head...and how funny that would look watching from the outside when the doors open up, Asian after Asian comes out  , and still coming out! haha- it was funny, there was just a lot of us in one little elevator- and then, ( this will be a funny picture in your head) they wanted to go to the roof garden-SO we ALL get back in the elevator and we spend our time up top, and it's nice, in the sun, and they are taking pictures, and then we get back in the elevators to go down to the main level, and the doors are closing and one guy that was in our tour comes running towards the elevators  with his arms stretched out infront of him going ahhhhhhh like, wait for me! he kind of looked like a mummy. anyways- just a funny experience.

Okay----to answer questions!!!!! This is what I had in mind for when you come: let me know if this works ok-
1. Sunday sacrament mtg- 730am- Joseph Smith Mem. bldg.
2. Sunday morn' -9am- Music and Spoken Word @ conf. center (you sit by me!)
3. Monday-morn' -730am- transfer conf. and our departing song ( it would be so neat for you to come and see how we do that! it's always SO much fun!)
&  tour at Welfare square during the day?
4. Tues -you drive home
5. Wednesday -arrival of large pkg- MOI!! tee hee hee!
I need to check and get permission for Boots and Jean to come.  I will have to see. Would be so fun!
Let me know what you think! Oh, such fun stuff coming ahead! So weird to think it's all in just 6 wks!

Well, that's about it- I am outta time! I just love you so much! Thank you for your love! I feel it everyday, as I pray, count my blessings, and am on Temple Square-especially looking at the "Holiness to the Lord" sign- member when you told me Mom, to think that I'm the luckiest girl in the world and that my momma loves me every time I look up at that? I do everyday when I walk past that!  Oh I just could keep typing and typing!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see you! So much love from me to all of you!!!!

Love,

Sister Harris!

Hello family!

How is everyone! I'm just doing soo well! I'm just loving life! I just feel so blessed in every way.

.The work is going great. I just feel and see how much God is sending prepared people here. I have no doubt in that. Just last night and this morning-
I had two amazing contacts w/ people- they are searching, and they came here, and they are looking. Last night- I met this
woman- Clare from CA- she's single and in the military- just our conversation was so neat- how it was led by the Spirit- she understood
that she was led here- that there was a reason she came, that she was talking to me, that she was seeing everything that she has seen.
She asked me to stay in touch with her and she gave me her email- she referred! I was able to open up the Book of Mormon and to share a scripture w/ her, and to bear testimony to her of the temple- and living a virtuous life-and the power of the priesthood. she soaked up everything, and just agreed it was so neat. She is getting deployed in a couple weeks so we'll see what happens. I was so thankful to have met her.

The contact that I had this morning was with a guy named Greg from Florida- he'd been here once before w/ his wife- but this time they were back again- with their daughter who looked about my age. I was able to talk to him- he asked where he could get a Book of Mormon, and I told him that we could have the missionaries in FL bring him one, but he wanted one now- and so I told him where the distribution center was- and then our
conversation went from there- he asked me a lot of really sincere questions, if we believed in the gifts of the spirit, and the
laying on of hands, - and I was able to give him an articles of faith card and show him the things that we believed in. I shared w/ him how we are led by a living prophet.  He said to me more than once how he really liked our beliefs- and he hates to see how people always give us a bad rep for our beliefs. man, if people only really took the time to see and learn- they would see how much they need this blessed restored gospel. I invited him to meet w/ the missionaries, and he said he has many friends- and that he wasn't wanting to convert- but to learn how his beliefs could be united w/ ours- and I'm thinking in my head-  you came back, b/c your still searching, and you feel something here! I really coud tell of his desire. It was just great. I love experiences like these- they just give me a high!

This missionary thing is unreal . I know this church is true. It has changed my life, and it still continues to do so everyday. I am amazed how the Lord works, His love, this gospel. There is no doubt in my mind. We are so incredibly blessed.

Slight subject change.......so yesterday- Sister Yao is giving a mandarin tour-and i'm standing next to her in the Assmebly Hall- just trying to be a good support in prayer and in thought- but can't really understand what is being said, ---and I keep hearing a bunch of screaming, and I'm thinking wow- these wedding groups at the temple are loud- getting out of hand. You always hear them scream when the couple kisses and what not- but these screams kept coming - and they were the high pitched ones- like girls!  Sister Yao asks me to bear my testimony of the Book of Mormon- to this chinese couple and I'm trying to testify w/ screams in the background. so we go outside, and all of sudden I hear singing from the beautiful voice of.....................
DAVID ARCHULETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No stinkn' way! He's just right outside the southgate across the street and he's singing my favoite song! Talk about trying to stay focused! I can't see him, I sure can hear him, and now we're outside at the Seagull monument, and of course  the two chinese and one taiwanse have no idea who this guy is- and I'm supposed to stand there... not understand what is being said in this tour, and not want to hum along in my head the words, or just run up to the gate and sneak a peak! haha- it was just funny to me. but as we rounded the corner I looked out and saw him for a brief moment! And then he starts singing  one of my favorite Rascal Flatts songs!! Oh man!

So that's my little exciting moment! The weather here is just sooo nice!

Sorry to just blab and blab on!

Well, best be going .I love you soo much! Thank you for being my neatest family!  I  love you so much and miss you!

Family!!!

so updates with this new transfer......it's all exactly the same! me and sister yao are together again, in the north zone, same apt.(which is nice, we won't have the stress of moving) so yeah! more mandarin motorcoach tours! we actually had one this morning. 38 people in this tour. mostly from mainland china. such sweet sweet people. they cornered me and each took turns taking pics w/ me! it was funny, i felt like movie star! haha. they are such kind people who are so receptive to the gospel. it just really touched my heart- this one lady, just held the Book of Mormon in her hand, and looked at it, and said, when can the Mormon Missionaries come and see me, how can i get a hold of them. and it is so sad to have to tell them, that they can't- that we don't have missionaries there. and another man said, that he loved it here, and that this was such a wonderful gift that he could learn more about how important families are. he said that i could come and visit China so that i could share this message with everyone there. it was really cute! pray  that China will be open to missionaries!

so yesterday, as you know was our transfer conference, and everyone was really excited and nervous for the outbound calls- and Pres. Holmes gets up front and announces that nobody is leaving outbound b/c we need as many sisters here at the square to accommodate the many guests that are coming. so that was a big shock! but it will be good! we need as many of us here for the busy summer season!

it was neat, just this morning- we met a man from Michigan- he was super nice, very funny, and talkative. he'd been on the road traveling since thanksgiving! here was here by himself, had a camera in hand just enjoying himself. it was fun to talk w/ him- he asked if he could have his picture w/ us- and we said yes!- where would you like it? and so he pointed to the New Testament paintings - all of them were of Christ, and he wanted it in front of the "fishers of men" painting, b/c he said he likes boats, and that he had one- well, that led to us just talking about his religious beliefs, and he said that he goes to a Unity spiritual center- where everyone just believes and lives how they feel, and it is all accepted. their center has the bible, the Koran, just everything that people read religiously, and i asked him, well, do you guys have a Book of Mormon there? and he was like, hmm...no. and i was thinking in my head da da daahhhh!!! well, let me share with you how we can get you one!  for some reason he said to me that he has such a respect for the Native Americans. and so it was really easy to bridge to the B.O.M.- who the record is of- ancient americans- the indians! and that really sparked his interest- and how Brigham Young was the Superintendent of the indian affairs- so he was impressed w/ that. and he totally referred for the B.O.M. I was just praying inside so hard to let the Spirit be there in conversation, and i could just feel it as I was able to just look him in the eye & testify to him of it. It just felt so good. i'm excited for him to get copy and read it. He said that he's a recovered alcoholic of 30 years. and he asked if we go dancing, and i said no- and sister yao goes" in our apartment!" and i was just shaking my head inside. oh man, we don't share that w/ people! haha- (sometimes for exercise a Tahitian sister does hip dancing) but anyways, he says that he still goes to bars- but doesn't drink, that he is a good example to other people- and he said you can go- and be that good example to others and ever share w/ people about the Book of Mormon! i thought that was neat he would say that- but yeah, no worries, we'll be staying away from the bars. haha.

well, i think that's gonna have to be it for now. i'm running over on time. so much love to you! i'll send some pics from the announcing this last sunday after the broadcast. thanks for the pics of keaton. he is sooooo stinking adorable! wow! what a cutie!!!!

much much love!

hi family!

Things here are going great! we have had lots of Mandarin tours. the people are so kind and gracious. and very prepared. they always refer. Whoever is assigned to serve in China when the doors open will be very busy!! i'm trying to learn some Chinese, but it all sounds the same! haha  So far, i can say Hello/How are you, and I can say My name is sister harris. that's about it!

it was fun to see the Sharratts! and i also ran into Mark's Dad, and
sister! no way! it was neat to get to talk to them. This morning we went to the temple. it was so peaceful sitting in the Celestial Room. Just thinking about everything.
There is always so much to think about- but the most important was feeling the love of Heavenly Father. i am so blessed. I could never deny His existence or hand in
our lives.

It was neat, this last week we met this guy named Jason. He was here from Vegas for business. We met him as we were greeting people in the North Visitors Center. He asked what was here that he could see, and said that he was interested in learning more, that he wanted a change in his life. before i could invite him to refer- his friends rushed him out b/c they needed to feed the parking meter. i felt discouraged as they left. another sister standing by who has seen what had happened said go after him! i was like, he's already left, he's down past the Tabernacle! She's said, you'll regret it! go! and i was off!-poor sister yao looked very lost, and asked where are we going? we booked it out and ran after this guy- and we finally caught up to him, and i said, hey- you had mentioned that you were interested in learning more, and i realized i let you leave w/o asking you if you would like to learn more from our missionaries back in Las Vegas. and he said, yes! and so we sat and talked for a little bit, but he expressed how he is looking for a positive change in his life, how he wants to get away from where he's at right now. with everything that he was saying, i was thinking in my head, is this for real? too good to be true! is he a member just pretending and pulln' my leg? very rare that someone is this golden! but he filled out the card- and was looking forward to learning more. i said as we were parting that i was sorry for chasing after him- kind of in a joking manner, and he said back, no- i'm glad you did. i could tell that he really meant it. it was just a neat experience. there are people who are ready, they need this gospel. they are searching for truth, for peace- and they need more in their life. they recognize something here. the spirit. it's just such a blessing to be witnessing these things. i hope that i can always be helping in the Lord's work in some way. even if i have to chase 'em down! haha. just kidding.

Last pday was fun- we went bowling! i scored the first strike on my first bowl.....and that was my last strike too! hadn't bowled in over a year! was a little rusty. we had fun.

so how are things going with planning julies wedding? fun fun! and when is darren getting married?
well, best be going! love you so much!

Heh Fam!

oh family~!!

what a wonderful joyous occasion that has been taking place these days!!!!! thank you for all of the family updates. how fun! i was thinking about derek and aubree and baby keaton. what a special blessed occasion! and now julie and zach are engaged!!! oh my!
happiness is all around! can hardly contain myself!!  it is so crazy how fast this has all gone. i can hardly believe it, i'm the old one now in the mission. and we just have 2 wks left in this transfer. they've changed our assignment w/ in the north zone to get ready for a busy summer sched. so now, i'm at the north visitor center desk everyday for half a day. the other half we go out and contact w/ in the north zone. so that will be good- we are to greet people, make them feel welcome and help them get on tours. so it'll be a new thing, which is good. i like change.

it has been undoubtedly a challenging transfer, but i'm learning patience, and love. things are getting much busier and many people are coming! and the weather is so nice. and flowers are just blooming everywhere!!! you walk along temple square and just the aroma of flowers! i just love it to bit n' pieces!!!
hmmm...what else. well, today we are going bowling and then walmart! yahoo!

hmmm...i'm trying to think of anything else. i had a really neat convo. w/ one of joey's co-workers, and he accepted having the missionaries come over! it was just a neat experience, i really felt the spirit guiding me to what to say. i have no idea what will become of it, but i pray, and have faith that it will work out, he's a really neat guy. you'll have to ask joe more.

well, i best be going. thank you for all that you do. you are a rock. every time i go through God's Plan, i just think of how blessed, and thankful, and lucky i am to  be a part of my family. My Heavenly Father is so good to me!
oh, my song last week went really well. It was a neat evening, powerful. The spirit was there. missionary work is such  powerful thing. i'll never look at it the same way as i once did before. it has a whole new meaning to me, and i'm so thankful to have that to be part of my life now. it's made me a better person. i'll always be improving, definitely learned so many wonderful things. especially how to rely on our Savior Jesus Christ, and His Atonement. We are so richly blessed and loved!

Hope you all have just a wonderful day! You are the best!

love,
sister harris

Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello!!!! Thank you so much for your email! How neat that dad got to be interviewed by Elder Bednar! What a special experience that must have been, and to hear him talk and to also hear the Gen. Primary Councilo,r my goodness! Your cup is probably over flowing!

Just on our way to come to  email, I saw Elder Oaks from a distance, but I couldn't tell if it was him, so I kept staring and then I went down the stairs, and he passed right by, so I kept staring hoping that he would look at me- well, I thought since his middle name is Harris, and that I'm Sister Harris, so we have a connection, he would just know, like to have an impression that distant family was near by and - to stop and look down at me , and let me shake his hand! haha. I'm SO just kidding- ..........he kept on walking. but it was neat to see him. Hopefully he didn't think I was weird for staring. I'm sure he's used to it.

Well, this morning we went to the temple. It was so nice. This morning actually couldn't be any better. Today we have morning p-day b/c tonight we are doing a program called, Called to Serve, and I'm going to be singing at it! Yikes! I'm going to sing, I wonder when He Comes Again. The sister that is accompanying me is almost as good as Julie! haha- but she added some cool arrangement for it. I'm excited to sing. I hope it sounds ok! But youth from around dif. stakes come to this program, - and we get them exctied to serve missions! So that'll be neat to do!

But yah, this morning was so nice, we went for a run up this canyon that is just right by the state capital, and the weather is just beautiful. I love being outside. I actually now, have my first slight watch tan in this season!!! Then we went to the temple- which as always, was so nice and peaceful. and now I'm emailing, and then we'll run to Walmart and then enjoy this weather. and then do our performance tonight.  AND guess who I got to see yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????? Tiffany!!!! and her husband Jarrod!!! it was so special to get to see them. We took them through God's Plan for His Family.I love that video, and then we showed them around Temple Square. I just love her! It was so fun getting to be with her. What a treat that was!

This week has been great. Sister Yao, is doing just amazing. Her English is coming along really well. She is trying so hard, and just keeps impressing me everyday! I'm amazed at how fast she is learning the language and how she is able to speak with people. It's hard to believe that we are already half way through the transfer! Oh my, how the time flies!!!!! We've just been working so hard this week. The Lord has really been blessing us. I love going home just tired and exhausted in the work of the Lord. We met our goals of referrals two days in a row- which was really neat! And so we celebrated and used our free coupon at the Lion House that we got- every first transfer and their trainer gets. So that was fun. Sis. Yao is so cute, and just loved it! All of the new food she is discovering!

I'll tag on some pics for you from our zone conf. We had some really good training this last week on relying on the spirit in our work, and planning. It is just a wondering blessing to be here surrounded by the influence of the spirit. We've had some amazing tours and contacts with people. I've really felt the guidance of the Spirt, with what to say, and how to invite, and in testifying.I love it!! There is no greater thing to be doing at this time in my life.

Can't think of anything else to write, and I'd best be going.      Love you soooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!

p.s. PICS: *the pic of the big truck is for little Granty! Check out the license plate!!! I HAD to take a pic!
*a pic w/ me and sister Binte from Germany, she and I just get along so well, we are both werid and silly,  I guess that's why!
*me and sisterYao at zone conf. on the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Building. Such a pretty view from up there, but it's hard to see in this pic. sorry!
