Lots of exciting news!!!!! With this transfer, me and sister bohman are still companions!!! yay! and we are in the same apartment, so we didn't have to move, man what a relief that is! and guess what?! I'm a district leader! holy cow is all i can say! i have 11 sisters in my district, we are still in the extended zone, my district is over the Family Search Center. so just like last transfer my emphasis was over Welfare Square, my emphasis is the Family search, so we get to help people do their family genealogy! i'm so excited! i can't believe that I've been asked to be a DL but i just have to trust the Lord that this is where he wants me. I'm scared b/c I'm not used to being in charge over people and having people ask me things that i am supposed to know. so just today, over an hour ago, i gave my first District Mtg. mom, just like you said, you pray and the Lord will help you. i pretty much prepared this last night and this morning, but it flowed so nicely, and i was a tid bit nervous b/c one of my zone leaders was there too. but she said i did a really good job. so that helped me feel better. i talked about needing to have faith in Jesus Christ, and having a good attitude (family search can be slow and boring) but i told them i was excited for this transfer that each of these sisters were assigned here for a certain reason and purpose, to take pride in our area and to set goals and have a good attitude. do you have any ideas for me w/ future district mtgs? any fun creative ideas? I'm excited! i just cant believe it, that's all! the mtgs are every Saturday, so I'm going to be planning lots n such!
i just love this work. i get so busy, lost in the work. I'm so glad that I'm here. the Lord is so good me! s. bohman and i took this tour of a dear, sweet old couple from El Paso, Texas. It was a really good tour, just everything flowed so nicely, the words we said, our testifying, i just felt that the whole tour was perfect! then at the end as they were filling out the referral card, i have never prayed so hard in my life for someone as they filled out the card, my desire was so strong, i wanted them to have the eternal blessings of the gospel and knew they needed it so bad. i literally came to tears as i stood there waiting for them to fill out their info. i just felt so much love for them, that i wanted them to be happy too from the gospel. the neatest thing, they referred. as i shook their hands goodbye, in Alma 5 it talks about having an "eye of faith" and something i learned in the MTC about that chapter was seeing your investigators w/ an eye of faith. i saw this man in faith having the restored truths in his life. it was just an neat experience, and it was a confirmation to me that they were here for a purpose, the woman said to me that coming to Temple Square wasn't even in their plans of vacation, but it happened to be that they came. i knew they would refer. anyways, that was a special and neat experience for me.
oh guess who i saw the other day, uncle Harold! he looked so good! it was sooo good to see him, his face all lit up w/ excitement for us to see each other. its amazing how God has his hand in all things, even in the tiniest things-somehow when ever people are looking for me, they find me, out of 120 sisters, of the 35acres of Temple Square. well, gots to go, I'm taking a van full of sista missionaries to walmart. gots to do the grocery shopping! love you so much!!
