Hey Family!

how fun to get THREE emails from you! thanks a bunch!! fun to hear about what all the family is up to! poor joey and his root canal! I'm glad he is feeling better though. sooo......i got this nasty letter from you all with finger and toe nail clippings!!! oh sickness! i seriously got sick in my stomach. oh yuck! Ü 

well, this transfer is sadly coming to a close. only 10ish days left. it seriously has gone by way tooooo fast!!! it was pretty fun tho, b/c we had outbound calls yesterday morning, and 11 sisters were called, and a lot of them were only in their 3rd transfer, which is really early, which means----that could easily be me at the end of this next transfer!!!!!!! scary!!! we'll see, whatever Pres. Holmes feels. He definitely prays hard about who goes. so yah, sister Couto got called to go to Minneapolis, Minnesota!!! that's where Kayla is! how exciting! she'll be gone for 3 transfers! I"m going to give her Kayla's address and hopefully just maybe she'll just happen to go tracting in that area and get to teach her! pray pray pray for it!!! Ü 

so some highlights from this week, i took a written test and a  driving test for passing off to drive our mission cars.....and i passed!!! so yay! the written test was 25 questions, and i missed 2. so that was good. you could miss up to 5 and then you would have to re-take it. we had to read 3 chapters from the Utah Driver's book or whatever it is called, i seriously felt like i was 16 again. haha. and then my drivers test was just 45 min. driving around Salt lake, and had to make a U-turn and get on and off the free-way, --piece -o-cake!!! Ü all good! so now i can drive! and it was actually a blessing today that i had just passed off, b/c this morning we had Welfare Square, and the sis that going to drive us was on a lot of pain meds for her period cramps, and didn't feel comfortable driving, and so she asked if i would drive, and so i did. but both of our companions are not American citizens, so they cant drive, so we would have had to call another sister that is passed of to drive, so it worked out really nice. yeah yeah...sister's cruisn' in the mini van!!!! haha!

So earlier this week, sis. couto and i walked into the North Visitor center and there was a really sweet family from D.C. that had taken a tour and was very interested in learning more about he church. so we sat down with them and just answered question after question, about the how the church was restored through Joseph Smith-to eternal families. it was just really sweet, it talks about having an eye of faith in Alma 5 is talks about having an eye of faith. in the MTC i had a teacher that said to view everyone and even your self w/ an eye of faith, of who they can become, their potential-- and your potential of who you can become, and as you exercise that eye of faith, you will love them and help them to come Christ. and as we sat there with this sweet and sincere family i viewed them as strong members of the church, a bishop, and mother in the relief. Soc. and it really changes your perspective of how you feel about them, you love them and truly want to help them know how the gospel can bless them and their family. so that was neat, we asked them if they wanted to refer, but they didn't want to. we had talked to the sisters that had taken them on a tour earlier, and i guess the mom was crying the whole time during the tour-she had felt the spirit, and she wanted to refer but he husband didn't want to.  so hopefully they will not forget what they felt here at temple square and have another opportunity to learn more.

so on Tuesday there was a big riot of about 3-400 people around the conference center b/c the prop. 8 had officially passed. so we were not allowed to go home, to get to our apartments we would have had to walk right in the middle of them all. we weren't allowed to leave the square and all the sisters were all asked to evacuate to the North Visitors Center and so we just hung out in the referral center and then Pres. Holmes walked us home. what a sweet man. he cares so much about our safety, and he should, but it just makes you feel good  at how protective he is.

on wed. i went on exchanges with our zone leaders. i was with sis. Ward who is from Australia. she is really pretty, and has a cute accent. we had welfare square that day, so that was fun of course! she had me give her a quick tour to refresh her memory b/c it had been awhile since she had been there, and as we stopped in front of the bakery, this nice man that was working inside comes out and talks to us, and invites in for a fresh piece-o-bread! so we went  around back into the bakery's break room/kitchen and there on the cupboard was a loaf of uncut white bread. we sliced it, and still was just a tidge bit warm, had welfare square butter, and raspberry jam, and washed it down with their thick n' creamy choc. milk. my oh my! was that a treat or what!? Ü

so today i served at welfare square and the senior couples that served with us are the Becks from St. Anthony, Idaho. very nice! Elder Beck is best friends with Lane Rollins! small world huh?! and Sis. Beck knows a Grant Harris, did gpa harris have any relatives in that area? she just had the nicest things to say about all the Harris' that she knew and wondered if i was related to any of them. so that was fun. today sis. couto and have been taking pics outside in this HOT weather!!! hope you like them! just a few! the pic of Pres. and sis. Holmes is from outbound calls. they always do something fun and crazy. the sisters that were called, had to make a basket in the hoop to get their letter. fun fun!
