Hi Family,

Thanks for the emails! I'll tell ya about this last week!

Last Sat-.  I had a fun moment. Sister Yoon and i were standing outside the south visitors center, and we were looking up at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial building and there is an American flag, and so I said the pledge of allegiance w/ my hand over my American flag from my name tag that's over my heart! haha. i just thought i was clever saying the allegiance while looking at a flag and having my heart over  a flag. Anywho, I guess my weird sense-o- humor is coming out. hehe haw!

Monday-  I had some fun things happen today!  One thing was that there was a hymn book in there that was labeled Tabernacle Choir Conductors book. So I looked inside and there were his notes written on some the hymns pages! There I held in my hand the book that had led the famous choir! hehe Ü Later that night my assignment was inside of the Assembly Hall, and usually at night no one comes in. so Sis. Yoon and I sang! She got up on the stage, and iIstood down below by the benches and she played hymns while I sang! It was amazing b/c it sounded so nice in that big room w/ the echoing. I didn't get too into it b/c there are security cameras in there. So yah, no weird body movements while I sang.

Tues.- by the way, the weather this whole week has been absolutely gorgeous! like BEAUTIFUL to the max! so warm and the flowers are indescribable! I wish you could be here to share this wonderfulness with me, Tuesday was nice weather for a BBQ that the so very sweet and kind Senior couples put on for all of us 160ish sisters. There was tons of food, shredded BBQ pork sandwiches, potato salad, chips n salsa, cookies and ice cream sandwiches, just everything. iI was fun!
Today was able to call a friend of a past sister who served here at Temple Square. I had contacted her at Gen Conf, and she gave me her friends' name, David Mazat. He's 23, and she met him while she was studying in Guatemala. So today I called him to talk w/ him. he was soo kind, and asked if we could communicate through email. So I emailed thanking him for talking and such, and his next email to me was thanking me over and over for talking to him, and that the missionaries had actually come over to his house and taught not only him but his family too! That was originally my whole point of contacting him to see if he wanted to learn more about the gospel thru the missionaries, so that was neat, and he said that they were coming again that night! So  I haven't heard back from him again, but i hope and pray that it went well! but it was just so neat to be a part of all of that, all the way even in Guatemala! So cool! So i called Nicole, the member  friend that gave me his name, and she was so excited!
iIll keep you updated on how it goes!

Wed- well, part of our assignments are contacting in the visitor centers and helping recruit ( that sounds funny, recruit) people to come on the tours, and so sometimes there are foreign people that request to have language tours. I was told that there was a french speaking couple that wanted a tour and that they were waiting in the building. So me, being very excited about anything that has to do w/ France, very excitedly went looking for this couple so that iIcould say bonjour! So I walk up to this couple and was like Bonjour! and the lady looks at me kinda puzzled, and she's like "hello"? so i guess I got the wrong couple. I was so embarrassed that I turned around and found the nearest corner to feel silly in .The other thing is, is that there are security cameras everywhere, so you feel like you are always being watched, so I always wonder what little movie that they are getting to watch w/ us silly missionaries out n about. There have been a lot of sisters that have been getting pooped on by birds lately b/c there are a lot of trees here on the square--which I just learned the other day were planted when the saints first settled here. they were imported or brought over from somewhere. so that's cool!
It's been really neat to be able to give people tours. I'm starting to be able to recognize the "golden" ones- as the sisters here say it, the people that refer themselves to have the missionaries come visit. So there have been some people that just stand out to me, that genuinely seen interested in what you have to say and that they have felt the spirit. there was this couple from Colorado that were on our tour this last wed. and they were so kind, and they referred themselves. It's just so exciting to know that you've been apart of their experience with the gospel!

Thursday Sis. Yoon and i went to the temple . That was neat!  I just love the temple so much!

Friday, Sis Yoon gave a Korean tour to a family, an American family whose daughter was engaged to a Korean guy (convert of 3 yrs) she met here at BYU, the tour was for his nonmember Korean mom. so while Sis Yoon taught the mom, i was able to contact the family. There were from Lehi. very nice people. Turns out the dad hss this  friend who pretty much knows that the church is true, I guess he's asked for blessings, just for whatever reason hasn't joined. he mentioned that he has a problem w/ chewing, but the dad told me that many times he's sent the missionsaries over to this guys house to be taught and it just hasn't happened yet. so the dad fills out the referral card, and he whips out his cell phone, calls this guy to confirm his address, and goes "Gary, i'm sitting here at Temple Square, and I'm filling out the card for the 5th time, so be expecting a call!" I was like woah! never has that happened before, So I'm really exctied to call this guy and get to talk with him! haha!!!

Sis. Yoon is really funny. sometimes she will just randomly says very random things. like when we were stanging inside the tabernace, looking out the window at this guy. Big and tall in stature. cowboy boots, cowboy hat, wranglers, very purple cowboy shirt. Sister yoon goes" he looks like an Idaho potato farmer!" guess you had to be there--but coming from a lil asian, just made it that more funny!
Today~ well, today is the day of  preparation, my last one of this transfer! Can you believe it? On  monday morning I find out my new companion and what room I live in, and then Wednesday is when we start our 2nd transfer, and i won't be the new Greenie any longer!!!

Dearest Family,

Hello!!! so good to hear from you. Well, lets see what's been happening here.....
Last Saturday was p-day, sister yoon and i went to this Brazilan restaurant w/ a couple other sisters, its called Braza Grille. and it was amazing!!!! when you bring Jeff down here, you have, i mean you MUST go! the experience is worth the taking. and i felt so blessed b/c we were getting ready to go, and the waitor said that someone had paid for us! how sweet of them! it was probably around a 50 dollar bill. anyways, i just felt so fortunate. we went shopping at the mall too, and that was fun to look around at the stores...just wishing and wanting was all that we could do. haha. das ok. i did go to the MAC counter and bought some foundation cuz i needed some. The weather today has been gorgeous, and there a lots of weddings going on. kinda sad, cuz i wish it was me! hehe, but I'm glad where I'm at! Ü
Sunday! EASTER! Easter didn't really feel like anything different, we worked just like usual. but it was good to remember the day and the reason why we celebrate Christ's Great Sacrifice instead of candy. Thanks again for the cute pkg mom. my roomies loved it! Dove chocolate! and we loved playing w/ those little bunny thingys! thanks for being so thoughtful mom. love you!
Monday- Sister yoon and i took this family on a tour who had a Korean exchange student. so while sister yoon was giving the tour in Korean, i had a chance to talk with the Dad. So i found out that we are related to him! funny! he's related to marchants in Peoa. we figured it out cuz we were in the tabernacle and he said that he's related to the organist, and i was like oh really, so am i!  so yah, we talked, and i gave him yer number b/c he wants his wife to call you so that you can chat. i hope that was ok. let me know if ya get a chance to talk to them. they live in st. george i think. nice guy.
Tues-it rained a lot. yay.
Wed- b/c of lots of rain, many worms were on the side walk. not very many people were on the square, and sis yoon and i had the assignment of contacting people outside. so to try and stay entertained, we had fun looking at all the worms. it was cute how fascinated she was with the big ones. so i heard that Jake Adams got engaged!  I'm happy for him. Ü Theres a choir from Germany and a couple other European states that came here to perform on Temple Square-they are members and they were all college age. Their concert was last night in the Assembly Hall, but i got to see them practice at the Christus Statue. they were really good. they were called Kammerchor Vocals. maybe you can google them?  We went and did a temple session with our whole zone, so that was fun. sure do love doing sessions. cant wait for Jeff to get his endowments out!
Thursday-Went and ate lunch at the Church office building. also known as the C.O.B. is what peoples around here call it. but yah, its a really good cafeteria that all the missionaries, and church workers, gen.authorities eat at. Sis. Titera said she saw on the the 12 apostles there the other day. twas fun! There is a Senior Sister that i just love! she is from the south, so shes got an accent, and i love talking to her, and whenever we walk by her she always waves her elbow at me and just goes" Hey there lady" in her accent. I just love all the senior couples here. they are always so kind, and genuinely interested in us. hey, i was just remembering, who is the senior couple that knows the mark Feltis' parents? do you mind sending me marks address again? i still haven' t thanked him for writing me.
Friday-yesterday! so yesterday morning was a fun morning that has been looked forward to by many of the sisters for awhile, the reason is: it was outbound call meeting! so this is where the sisters find out who has been chosen to go out for their 3-4 months, and they find out where they go. its usually sisters who have been here for 5 transfers. Sis Yoon is going! she got her call to Carlsbad, California! my roommate sis. Goodwin got her call to Everett, WA!!! im sooooo jealous! tell  Jooge! you'll have to tell her to keep an eye out for her. she knows ASL too. she has bright blonde hair. shes' in one of the Easter pics of us that i sent. I'll write jooge too to let her know. it was too funny, because Pres. and his wife dressed up in UPS shirts and brought a big duffel bag pkg that had all the call letters in them. this time is always a big deal, and so they try to make it as fun as possible! it was fun to see where other sisters get called. none to Alaska this time. maybe it will be me! haha! Ü ! things are still good! i feel bad because i don't really have any cool stories of families that we have tracted and teaching and how they are progressing. i pretty much do the same thing everyday. give tours, contact people, to the pin drop at the tabernacel, talk to people. so i hope you don't mind that i don't really have any stories like that. hmm...but many of the people we get to take on tours are so kind. well, i do have a neat story. just today, sis yoon and i took 6 people on a tour, and there was this young couple from Australia, and the girl was so happy, i felt like her light of christ was just beaming! she was so interested in everything we had to say, and had lots of questions, and you could tell that she was genuinely interested in what we had to say. at the end of the tour she had more questions, and she said that she wanted to go through the family presentation-God's plan for his family- its a walk through movie about a family, and death, and how they got through it w/ their belief in the church, but sis yoon and i had extra time so we were able to take them through it, and it was neat to be able to share my testimony to them, and the get to share with them the truth-and to see how them listened and i just hope and pray that they will want to learn more. i gave them a pamphlet on Joseph smith and the proc. of the family, and also a pass along card with the mormon.org website. i invited her to go to church back in Australia. hopefully things will work out!
any who, its nice to get to do that kind of stuff! We had a group of elders from the MTC that came and we gave a tour to. and there were a couple of Argentina! yay for jeffy! i just got an email from Bishop Field. he is such a good man!  i sure do think highly of him. he had such nice things to say about Jeffy as well. well, family,, I've got to go! i love you so much, and thank you for all you do. i sure to appreciate it. thanks for being such a good family i feel so lucky that you love me, and take the time to write, and for your encourage words. much love and kisses on the cheeks!!!! and one big fat juicy hug!!!!!! Hi Family,

Things are going well! it was a good week. the weather has been pretty good, and all the flowers are in bloom! absolutely beautiful! sending some pics w/ this email so you can see what it looks like! well,---here goes for this week!

MON-my pday! sis Yoon and i went to gateway mall and shopped around for fun, i bought some neck scarves so that was fun. we also ate at a mexican restaurant, and we ate a lot!! we got so full, but we had to go to the Haagan Daas icecream shop to get icecream. oh dear. Ü.

Tues-I saw Uncle Gaylon!!! sis yoon and i were just outside contacting people, and i look to my left, and theres uncle G just bookn' it as fast as he can walking right toward me! it was good to see him. that's probably the most i have ever talked to him in my life! haha. but he was so sweet-as always. he had mtgs. in park city and he said he wanted to come to temple square to see if he could find me. what a nice guy to go out of his way to see me! that made me happy!

Wed-at my most favorite assignment-the tabernacle! i was doing the pin-drop demonstration- and i say that i'm from washington-and as soon as i did, there was this couple sittting in the front row and they stood up and yelled wahoo!! so i'm assuming they're from WA, but it was kinda funny cuz usually everyone is really quiet while we speak, and then i had my own fan club! so i just stopped and went yay! w/ my hands in the air, and then continued my usual routine! but thot that was cool! its fun to meet people from back home! a little while ago i acutally met a korean family  from pullman that were students here for a chemistry convention. so ya!

Thursday!- every first transfer sister gets a coupan to some restaurant near temple square to eat at, and i got mine coupan to the LIon House Pantry. sis yoon and i went and ate dinner there...and it was soooo good! i'd never been there before, they have these big n' soft dinner rolls w/ honey butter. i think i'll have to go back atleast a couple o times! Ü it was cute--at the tabernacle i was doing the pindrop- and sis. Holmes (mission pres. wife) came in w/ her grandkids-and she wanted us to the the demonstration for them again- and so i went up there, and she and her 3 grandkids went up to the podium w/ me and helped drop the pins! it was cute!
Friday!!!- sis yoon and i woke up real early to catch the 7am session at the Salt sLake Temple! my first time going into my most favoritiest temple! so that was really special for me! it was neat to see it live-and to think that the pioneers built it! it was special to finally see the inside. so pretty!
so i guess the Friend-is doing this thing once a month at temple square-where they highlight a primary kid doing some sort of talent on temple square-and so there was this 9 year old playing the organ w/ the foot petals at the tabernacle! it was so cute to look up there and see this little boy dressed in a shirt and tie- belting it out at the organ! i was very impressed!
i passed this lady just walking on the square dressed in ALL purple. she was seriously all purple--and my favorite thing on her i think was her matching purple band-aid! haha!

lastnight was what we called our Referral Center marathon. we had 3 hours set aside in our sched. to enter in the computer all the the potential referrals that the memebers had given us at gen. conference. and then we had the opportunity to call them. so it was really neat to get to talk to people, and let them know their frined was here on tmeple square and thought of them while they were here and wanted them to know about our church and why it makes them so happy. but everyone i talked to was very open and kind. i was nervous- becuase i didn't know how they would react, but i prayed really hard that they would have soft heart towards me and they truly were!
TODAY!! day before EASTER! yay! the senior couples hid easter eggs filled with candy around our lounge and and eating area. its fun to see it all eastery, and the yummy chocolate! Ü  sis yoon and i are going to go shopping at walmart for groceries here is a tidge, and go to the Brazilian Grill Buffet. i've heard nothing but good things about it. so that should be fun! we just gave a tour to a huge group of like 20 people. they were a youth/adult ministry group. i was really nervous, but it worked out pretty well! we also gave a tour to this couple who asked a lot of questions. it was neat because this morning in my personal study, i really wanted to study about the great apostasy and the restoration---in preach my gospel, we are promised that if we study dilegently, something we study in our personal study, will be used and help us in our teaching that day. and so i prayed that i would be able to use my studying today. and sure enough, the Lord once again, has answered my prayers. Although it didn't really come out smoothly and i had thougt it would, this couples' questions were about the apostasy and the restoration, and wanted to know how we knew-so anyways, i was just greatful that i was prepared, and that i could feel confidnet in sharing with them my testimony.
So this is my week! i hope you enjoyed hearing about it all!

hey Ma!!! and family!!!

WOW!! so much has happened this week! i hope that you get the pics i sent! This last sunday, a week ago Sis. Yoon got to give a Koren tour to Llyod Newell who is the voice of the the Gen. Conf. and he is on the spoken word, she gave a tour to his students and i got to shake his hand! it was snowing really bad outside so we go to go under ground in the tunnel, which only the gen. authorities get to go in, so we felt pretty special! VIP baby!!!

it was neat, on Wed. April fools day! haha not to many pranks went on, but it was cool because i was doing the pin drop, and the gen rel. society presidencey was there because of meetings, and they were still there hanign around afterwards their mtgs. and the pres. saw me do the pin drop, and she waved at me after when i get to wave at everyone in the audience after it was all done. i felt pretty special! Ü i think her name is susan b. tanner.

Thursdsay we had zone conf. and we got all ready for Genl. Conf! our mission pres. treated us to a Session at the bountiful temple! so some pics are of that, and there is one pic w/ me and sis yoon  and two blonds who are our roommates. they are really sweet. but it was cool to go to that temple! so pretyy, and to get to do it w/ our pres. and his wife. they are sooo cool! i love them. they are just solid! lets see, Fri! Things were starting to pick up w/ lots of people comeing for conf.

I saw matt kunkel! and he had a girlfried! so i was happy to see him happy! there were these two older guys that sis yoon and i gave a tour to. they looked creepy, and smelled bad, one guy was in all black. i didn't have a good feeling about them. so we decided to give them a quick tour, onlly facts and no doct. one of our very sweet senior elders, elder bingham-followed behind us the WHOLE tour to make sure we were safe. it was so sweet of him. temple square is extremely secure, so no worries, but we stiill have to be careful. there is security everywehrer and camaras so thats nice. we have secret codes of detress and signals if wer are in trouble. so please dont worry! Ü hehe.OHHH!!! pres. whitehead and his wife found me! that was so sweet of them to look for me! cuz its hard to try and find sisters cuz we move around so much and we are not allowed to give the whereabouts of eachother, but they are so kind and it meant a lot that htey would look for me! do you have their address i could write them a thank you? so saturday!!! busniess like holy cow mama!!! lots n lots of peeps! sis. yoon and i got to go the afternnoon session. and there was an old lady sitting infront of us, who totally picked her nose and ate it!!! haha!but the session was really good.

The rest of the day we contact memeber to try and get referral from them. we, as a whole mission, set goals for how many memebers we coudl contact, and also how many referrals we could get, we totally reached our goals and then some! so today, pres. holmes as a reward, let us sleep in 2 hours and he got us pizza today for lunch!!! it was so funny, becuawse last night at the end of the day, we were all just beat and tired beyond words, he and sis holmes get up at the front of the tabernace(we all met there at 9 to hear the results of our goals) sis homes does the pindrop! and she was doing it all in a funny manner. they are hilarious! it was funn! but it was so neat to get to reach our goals and know that we all worked so hard, to help bring everyone to the gospel!

 so yesterday, i totaly saw the MILL's famlily!!! oh it was soo good! i alsmost started to cry! they are so sweet and it was just so good to see them. they were so kind and gave us names of their foreign exchang students that we can contact. it was neat, i also saw lexie fairbanks and lance udy too-on saturday. so that was fun. it was good, but kinda akward, i saw the Fickenworths, they are from lewiston, inlaws of Brian Winterbottom-so i know them preety well, but yah, they were so kind to me- but i guess Britney is engaged!!!!! to Brayden Schroder from Moscow.  Yesterday i also saw Clint-Corrine's boyfriend the one that baptized her. it was so good to see him! oh and i also saw derek askham-jeff will you tell him sorry for me? i was in the middle of contacting a couple and we made eyecontact and he just starts talking to me, and i didn't want to be rude to this couple, so i asked derrek if he would wait-well, he left after awhile so i jsut didn't want him to be mad-cuz he said he wanted a pic w/ me. so yah. anyways, that's everything this week! it snowed all week and was just freezing! and then finally the weather was good for yesterday. so that was nice, and it's gorgeous today!!!!

i just love you so much! it was neat, yesterday we gave a tour to a member family and at the end the dad asked me and sis yoon to bear 0ur testimonly of our mission, and i could feel the spirit so strong as I bore my testimony of the my mission, and also the importance of temples and eternal families, and i'm just so thankful for you! my family! i love you so very much and am so greatful that we are forever!!! i hope that you are all doing good! thanks for you love, and letters, mom thanks for sending me letter in the mail! i get mail during the week and i can read it daily, but i cna only write you once a week. but i love letters! they keep me goin'!! i'm doing good! i lvoe it here!  i miss you too!   i couldn't do it w/o you love and example to me! hope you have a wonderful day! and i can't wait to talk to you on mothers day! and we get to call on fathers day too! happy easter!!!!
